Stood By Strauss…
Continuing our stroll around the decorative Viennese City Park (known locally as the Stadtpark), quite possibly the main event is this golden statue of Johann Strauss. Indeed, it is alleged to be the most photographed monument in the whole of Austria…
I mean, there aren’t too many statues of the world that have a dedicated webcam pointed in its direction eh?!
Johann Strauss II was an Austrian composer famous for his waltzes. During his time he was known as the Waltz King, and he revolutionised the waltz in the dancefloors of Vienna in the 19th century. Statue standing superstar Mr Poll took on fiddling duties in Vienna just over a year ago…
